The Research Office is responsible for promoting and facilitating the development and implementation of research projects at Landmark College. These projects include internal projects conducted by College faculty and staff, and external projects conducted by other organizations. For more information about research at Landmark College, please contact Dr. Steve Fadden.
Research at Landmark College is different from evaluation activities that are conducted to assess progress toward internal objectives and mission goals. If you are interested in learning more about evaluation at Landmark College, please refer to the Office of Evaluation.

Due to Landmark College’s unique mission and population, our research processes have been developed to maintain a balance between the open promotion of scholarly activities, the preservation of a high-quality educational experience for our students, and the assurance that our personnel remain dedicated to the College’s unique mission.
Processes
*Note: Research requests take time to review, especially in cases when the full IRB must be convened. The entire process can take over 1 month, so please plan accordingly.
Propose an internal research project at Landmark College (led by Landmark College personnel)
Propose an external research project at Landmark College (led by an external researcher.)
External research requests from outside organizations must be routed through the Research Office. These requests are regularly reviewed by an Advisory Board of Landmark community members, who determine the level of benefit and impact on our students, faculty, and staff. While we encourage research at our institution, our small enrollment limits the number of research opportunities available. We must be particularly selective, approving only those proposals that show a strong and direct benefit to students from the knowledge gained.
