About Student Play Productions
Each year students have an opportunity to participate in Landmark’s Student Play.
Previous productions have included:
- King Ubu
- You Can’t Take It With You
- The Bald Prima Donna
- The Mousetrap
Directors for Student Plays have been members of the Landmark Faculty as well as Artists-in-Residence. Currently, Student Plays are directed by Acting I Instructor, Nevada Bromley.
Student Plays are performed most semesters over Parents’ Weekend. The plays are cast through an audition process. Previous experience is helpful but not required. Students new to acting may elect to take Acting I (3 credits) before auditioning for the Student Play, but the course is not required to audition. Actors should expect 7- 8 hours of rehearsal per week, with some additional hours in the final two weeks leading up to Parents’ Weekend. There are also opportunities for Technical and Set Production Crews, Stage Managers and Ushers.
There are some Work Study jobs available for production support. Students applying for these jobs must qualify for Federal Work Study jobs through the Financial Aid Office.
Please contact Nevada Bromley,
nevadabromley@landmark.edu , for more information for how to get involved.
